Seasonal Fruit and Vegetables In the UK we have a fantastic variety of home grown fruit and vegetables, many of which have gone out of fashion with the influx of exotic imported produce, but fruit and vegatables in season have the best flavour. May is always one of the most difficult times of the year to find home grown vegetables, but there should nbe good quality asparagus in the shops and why not try some of the delicious iron-strong spring greens - but be careful not to overcook or you will lose much of the vitamin C. The new potatoes are readily available and a real spring treat. With storage systems improving it is still possible to find old season British leeks and swedes in the shops.
