Farming In The Classroom.
This has been such a very special year for Food and Farming, when all the farming industry has pulled together to get our message across, especially to the younger population, and WFU has done what it does best – going into schools to speak to children directly. Through our FIC programme we have increased our visits this year to 146 schools, of which the greater percentage were in urban areas and new schools requesting visits, making contact with over 10,000 children in the process.

Once again the WFU has forged ahead with the Campaign for British Cheese; a joint initiative between WFU and the Cheese Board. Despite bad weather conditions all summer the ladies donned their ‘uniforms’ and sallied forth to promote a huge range of top quality British Cheese.

The pro-active efforts of branch members within the WFU, have meant that the healthy eating message has been communicated to thousands of hungry recipients, during a fun packed week to celebrate The HGCA, British Farmhouse Breakfast.
