WFU AGM 2007

16th November 2007

WFU AGM 2007

The WFU held their AGM this week at the National Association of British & Irish Millers (NABIM) offices in Arlington Street, London.

The Central Executive Committee remians more or less the same. Janet Thorogood has been promoted to Vice President and we say goodbye to Minty Willoughby and Dilwen Phillips, but there are no new members.

Awards were presented by the new WFU patron, Baroness Byford.

Best branch under 20 members – Glamorgan

Best branch over 20 members – Northamptonshire

President’s Award – Hilary Wood, Cornwall

An informative presentation on NABIM and the milling industry was given by NABIM chief Alex Waugh.

A hard hitting and informative, but upbeat summary of the agricultural situation was delivered by Lord Haskins followed by an amusing presentation from Professor Rob Pickard on genetics and diet.
