What you can do to support sustainability

* Support British producers and growers by looking for the red tractor logo in shops and supermarkets. This guarantees it has been produced in the UK to independently inspected standards.

* Wherever possible, eat local food. Support your local market or farm shop. Get to know the people who grow your food and farmers' markets and find out what they do.

*Eat with the seasons - it adds interest and variety and tastes much better.

Women's Food and Farming Union

The quality and variety of the food on our table, particularly British food, is a subject important to us all.

Few however can be so directly concerned, both as producers and consumers, as members of the Women’s Food & Farming Union.

Founded in 1979, this voluntary organisation is committed to promoting an understanding of and confidence in all aspects of quality British produce.

The WFU believes that by representing the best interests of consumers and producers, both the health and economy of the nation will benefit.
