 | Ionwen Lewis, President, Ceredigion
Farming interests: A livestock farmer in West Wales with a herd of Welsh Blacks and a flock of Texels, all pedigree. Ionwen is kept busy producing stock for breeding as well as meat. She also runs a busy farmhouse B&B, and lets a range of barn-conversion workshops and offices. Ionwen is a Welsh director of Farm Stay UK and holds many consultative positions particularly within the Welsh government.

 | Debbie Macbean MBE, Scotland
Farming interests: A hill-farmer near Inverness with her husband Hamish, Debbie has been instrumental in driving forward recent commercial changes within WFU. A long-time CEC member Debbie is also a director of the Royal Highland Educational Trust, runs the Inverness Farmers Market and is involved in a variety of local organisations.

 | Janet Thorogood, Dengie Hundreds Janet was a co-founder and chairman of WFU’s Dengie branch which was started in 2000.
She was brought up on a dairy farm and now farms a 600 acre arable farm with her husband. She works as a part-time primary school teacher.
Janet is a member of the committees for Land Use and Environment and Food and Consumer Affairs. She was chairman of the organising group for the National Conference this year.

 | Elizabeth Buchanan, Sussex
Qualifications and experience: Member of the Womens Land Army on large estate in Norfolk. She was the first woman to read agriculture at Oxford - the only one in the whole school of agriculture at that time!!!
Covered the Agriculture and Food Desk in the Conservative Research Department.
Farming interests: Breeder of Pedigree Sussex Organic Cattle.

 | Sarah Buckley, Lincolnshire
Qualifications and experience: BSc Degree in animal nutrition from Newcastle University, MSc in food law.
Farming interests:A farmer's daughter from North Yorkshire where her parents still farm a mixed enterprise near Thirsk. After Newcastle she travelled and worked on farms in New Zealand & Canada. She has spent over 14 years working in the animal feed industry in Yorkshire, Norfolk and Lincolnshire. Currently she works part time for an animal health company in North Lincolnshire. She lives in Lincolnshire where my husband manages over 4000 acres of arable land and is an active member of Lincolnshire WFU and the food and consumer issues committee.
After completing her masters degree in food law in 2002, she expanded her interests into human food and the laws behind the production and marketing and labelling of it.

 | Barbara Hughes, Cheshire
Qualifications and experience: Milks 130 cattle in Cheshire and rears 150 beef cattle per year. Barbara is a strong and vocal supporter of the UK’s milk industry. She is supported by her husband, who also runs his own business outside of the agricultural industry. Hobbies include riding and breeding dalmations. WFU Responsibilities: Dairy Committee Chairman |
 | Juliet Fenton, Kent
Juliet is chair of WFU Kent and sits on WFU’s Livestock Committee. She farms, with husband David, a fully organic livestock unit with pedigree Herefords, a 120 dairy herd, Gloucester Old Spot pigs and Dorset and Romney sheep. The farm hangs and cuts its own meat and sells this, plus its own cheese, through its farm shop. Her interests include the Kent Wildlife Trust and educating young and old about farming.

Qualifications and experience:Joined the WFU when Teresa Wickham was Chairman and has served as
secretary to the Livestock Committee from 1989, later to become Livestock Chairman and several times Kent Branch Chairman. Farming interests:A director of a thriving Kent poultry business.

 | Sally Kendall, Cornwall
Sally and husband Tim owns and runs a Cornish farm and niche tourism business. A graduate with a BA Hons English and History, City and Guilds III Farm Management and Accounts she is a long-term WFU member. With a constant hunger for great food and interest in eating trends Sally is chairman of the Food and Farming Marquee at Royal Cornwall Show. Three children and a host of guests for the business also keep her cooking and supporting local food initiatives.

 | Sue Kinnersley, Warwickshire Qualifications and experience: Dairy Technology, current chairman of Warwickshire branch, livestock representative
Farming interests: Sue worked in the dairy industry after studying at Studley College. Now retired from helping run the family arable and livestock farm in Warwickshire Sue concentrates on local rural affairs. She is a parish councillor and church warden and has a special interest in youth work. Sue is a longstanding member of WFU and a past WFU Warwickshire chairman.

 | Ros Lloyd, Scotland
Qualifications and experience:B.Sc. in Agriculture and Crop Science from Edinburgh University and Harper Adams University College. Ros’s parents farm in the Scottish Borders and her mother, Pauline, is WFU Scotland’s chairman. Ros has worked for the past 12 years in the UK agricultural industry.
She currently works for a national communications and PR company, representing mainly national arable businesses, but in the past has worked as an agronomist for a national agricultural merchant and as a technical manager for a plant breeder. Her husband, Tim, is an agronomist for a local crop protection company, covering mainly Hertfordshire.

 | Liz Thomas, Ceredigion
Starting as a Young Farmer, Liz has worked for the University of Bristol veterinary school as a lab technician, moving into horticulture working in a retail nursery after having children. In 1989 Liz and husband Glyn moved to a small holding in West Wales where they developed a free-range egg business, recently selling through farmers markets. They also run a small flock of sheep. Liz has been involved with WFU for nearly 10 years, including three years as WFU Ceredigion chairman.

| Pauline Twemlow, Scotland
A WFU member since 1997 and chairman of WFU Scotland, Pauline and husband Clive are tenant arable farmers in the Scottish Borders running three self-catering holiday cottages in their spare time.
Pauline is on the board of Farm Stay UK, a volunteer with WRVS and similar organisations and is an enthusiastic supporter of the Royal Highland Educational Trust.
