Dorset - Jean CoatesAmendment of the Declaration of a Wild Bird Control Area and a Wild Bird Monitoring Area (Dorset)
21 days have elapsed from the date on which the last sample showing the presence of the H5 virus was collected in England. The Secretary of State declares that the Declaration of a Wild Bird Control Area and a Wild Bird Monitoring Area made at 15:00 on 10 January 2008 ("the Declaration") is amended such that the Wild Bird Control Area described in Annex 1 and delimited in blue on the map in Annex 4 of the Declaration becomes part of the Wild Bird Monitoring Area described in Annex 2 and comprising the area delimited in black on the map in Annex 4 of the Declaration. The measures set out in Schedules 2 and 3 to the Avian Influenza (H5N1 in Wild Birds) (England) Order 2006 ("the Order") and the additional measures set out in Annex 3 of the Declaration apply in the Wild Bird Monitoring Area. The Wild Bird Monitoring Area comprises the area delimited in blue on the map in the Annex to this declaration. This declaration applies from 12:00 on 19 February 2008 until it is withdrawn or amended by further declaration. This declaration is made under articles 5 and 12(1) of the Order. Farmhouse Breakfast Week - January 2008 Members are inviting people to breakfast in their own homes in order to promote good local breakfasts and bring people together in a warm location at this dull time of year! International Women's Day - 5th March 2006 An event to celebrate International Women's Day is to be held on Sunday, March 5th, 10am until 4pm at St Mary's School, Puddletown. It is a women and family day so the men might feel a bit out of place! Please spare an hour so that Jean is not the only collar present. There are workshops on drumming, Yoga, Pilates, meditation and alternative therapies.

Report for 2005 Dorset WFU have been invited to make Dorset Cakes for a farming forum hosted by Kingston Maurward College on Monday October 3rd 2005 which will be attended by Jim Knight MP. In the summer local food samples were served by WFU members at the college's open day. These included Denhay Ham, Varieties of Bread from Long Crichel Bakery, Watercress Soup, Scones, Local Strawberry jam and clotted cream. 2004 Annual General Meeting and Supper at the Kings Stag
Farmhouse Breakfast 2003 Dorset WFU handed out free breakfast at Dorchester Farmers' Market during Farmhouse Breakfast Week in January. Breakfast included muesli bars made from Dorset cereals, bacon, sausages from Martinstown, eggy bread and apple juice from Somerset. Members were also collecting for the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution, which helps farming families in need. Programme for 2002:
